Starfield College, Fagba, Lagos, recently rolled out the drums to celebrate the outstanding performance of its students in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Computer-based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The outstanding students were honoured and rewarded at the 24th Valedictory Service of the college for the class of 2026, which 72 graduated after completion of their secondary education.
The college showered awards and cash on Iyinoluwa Oyinloye who emerged as the 2026 valedictorian.
The Kwara State born whiz kid obtained 7As and two B2 in WASSCE, 326 in the UTME and 94 in University of Ilorin post-UTME test.
He emerged best in Mathematics, English and best in Science. He got the director’s special prize, plaques and a firm, Adbond Harvest and Homes gifted him 75 square meters of land, N50,000 and food hamper for his academic feat.
Oyinloye wants to study Medicine and Surgery at UNILORIN and was the outgone Head Boy of the college.
In his Valedictory speech, Oyinloye described the college as a second home to him and classmates. He acknowledged that he faced some challenges such as balancing academics, leadership, sports and personal growth which wasn’t easy.
He showered encomium on the director of studies for his commitment to the students academics, and that his high standards pushed the students to excel.
In the UTME, the college students recorded outstanding performances. Kolawole Abdulsamad scored 327, Teniola Olaoluwakitan 326, Ojo Anjolaoluwa 321, Hamzat Ammar 311, Akintunde Feyikemi 309, Adegboye David 309, Eong-Bright Hero Emmanuel 305, John Ikechukwu Goodness 302 and Alabi Benjamin 293.
In WASSCE, Hamzat Ammar got 8As, Kolawole Abdulsamad 7As, Jen-Ibuh Philip Alex 5As and Ojo Ayomikun 5As.
Anjolaoluwa was also gifted 75 square meters of land, food hamper and N50,000 for her outstanding performance by the firm.
In his address, the Director of Studies, Mr. Chris Eigbe, tasked the graduating students to remain focused, disciplined, and faithful as they move to the next stage of their life.
He said: “Let the value of excellence, integrity, and hard work guide you. Dream big, work hard, and never lose faith. Your future will be brighter than today. Doors of opportunity will open for you, and by God’s grace, you will attain great height.”
Eigbe appreciated the teachers for their dedication to the college’s vision and for their commitment to academic excellence, good character, and moral uprightness.
The director described the parents as worthy ambassadors of the school and acknowledged the sacrifices, prayers and support towards the education of the graduating students.
Eigbe sought continuous partnership with parents in the areas of discipline, character building, good morals and academic excellence.
The college Principal, Mrs. Sara Oyinloye, said the 72 graduating students have been prepared and are ready to conquer the world.
Oyinloye acknowledged the contributions of the teachers and non-teaching staff for their hard work and love for the graduates that made the celebration possible.
To the parents, she said: “Today’s success is a reflection of your love and investment. You dreamed with them, prayed with them, and stood by them. We celebrate you.”
The principal reminded them that as they step into the universities, there will be mountains and urged the graduates to meet the challenges with determination.
In his charge to the graduating students, Rev. Nnamdi Ajuzie, advised them to remain worth ambassadors of the college and represent it well wherever they found themselves.
He further advised them to excel in their next endeavours and also remain relevant in whatever they do in life.
According to him, the graduates have been impacted with knowledge and tasked them to apply it to solve societal problems.
He described the college as one of the best in Lagos, noting, “we never regret bringing our sons and daughters to the school. We appreciate the efforts of the management and teachers in transforming our children.”
