Bolaji Okunola, a journalist with The Sun newspaper and his beau, Damilola Olukoya, have legally tied the knot few weeks after an introduction ceremony was held in the bride’s house, Igando, Lagos.
The couple had their legal marriage at Ikoyi Registry in Lagos on August 30, an event graced by a few family members and friends.
Everyone was dressed elegantly with the men and women in beautiful attires in line with the couple’s wedding colours.
Narrating how he met his wife, the country’s famous sports writer now Mr. Bolaji, said they met in a comic way through a close pal several months ago.
“I used to be a very funny character in my neighborhood. Meeting my heartthrob came to reality via my comic way of life. There lived a woman who usually comes to see my neighbor, each time she comes to visit, I joke randomly about my inability to get a partner. She therefore picked interest in my lamentation and vowed to help me get one. I never took her seriously until she shared with me a contact, who now turns out to be my legal wife. She was seriously hard to get but “I that God luck was on my side. We spoke for the first time via Whatsapp call and here we are today thanking the almighty,” he narrated.
The award winning Nigerian journalist who has been in the pen pushing profession for almost a decade, is a Mass Communication graduate while bride, an experienced Credit Account Officer is a certified Public Administrator of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
