The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has appealed to the state government to expedite action on the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of major roads across the state, especially the Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta expressway.

The Ogun student body equally urged the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration to urgently attend to other deplorable roads in order to allow residents and commuters to heave a sigh of relief.

The National President of NAOSS, Kehinde Thomas, made this appeal in a statement on Thursday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Thomas acknowledged that the incumbent administration in the state has constructed scores of roads across the state and is working to complete key roads abandoned by the immediate past administration; efforts must be geared towards completing the ongoing road rehabilitation on time.

He added that as a body of indigenous students, NAOSS has been monitoring the ongoing reconstruction of Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta expressway, noting the contractor handling the project is working assiduously to complete work on the road.

Thomas disclosed findings by the student body revealed that incessant downpour has actually slowed down the contractor, particularly in the marshy Ewekoro-Papalanto axis of the expressway.

The NAOSS National President, however, urged residents and commuters in the state to bear with the state government, expressing optimism that the Governor Abiodun-led administration will complete the ongoing reconstruction of roads as well as repairing the identified deplorable roads in the state.
