Spatacus, 5 others arrested over multiple murder

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected serial killer, Tajudeen( aka Spatacus), and five other members of his gang that have been on the wanted list of the police.

The gang members were allegedly responsible for several killings and raping of their female victims  in the state.

Also arrested alongside Spatacus are five other members of his gang simply identified as: Tinoulaji, Ugochukwu,  Ezeani, Eze, and Seun. The police said the suspects are members of a notorious secret cult gang terrorising the state.

Spatacus, identified as the gang leader, has been on the police wanted list for different murder cases. Several guns, ammunition, axes, cutlasses, charms and fake dollars were recovered from the hideouts of the suspects.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest, said Tajudeen, a notorious cultist, was arrested on Saturday, June 10, 2022. Hundeyin said Tajudeen’s arrest led to the arrest of other gang members. He said two locally made double barrelled guns, two locally made pistols, 12 live cartridges, two axes, two daggers, fake dollar notes, and some  charms were recovered in their possession.

“The suspects confessed to have killed several people, including Alaba, Lawal, and Dolapo, in Ajegunle, Abule-Osun and Aguda/Surulere, respectively. They also mentioned some of their gang members who are still on the run. Efforts are in progress to arrest those at large, while those arrested will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” he added.
