Fresh from winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spain have dominated FIFA’s official Team of the Tournament, with three players named in the competition’s Best XI following their title-winning campaign in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
FIFA unveiled the 11-man team in a 4-3-3 formation, recognising standout performers from seven countries who delivered exceptional displays throughout the tournament.
World champions Spain accounted for the highest number of selections, with full-backs Marc Cucurella and Pedro Porro joining midfield anchor Rodri, whose performances played a pivotal role in La Roja’s march to the world title.
France also produced three representatives despite falling short of the final. Defender Dayot Upamecano was rewarded for his commanding displays at the heart of defence, while Michael Olise earned a midfield berth and Kylian Mbappé completed the attacking trio after another prolific World Cup campaign.
Runners-up Argentina had two players included in the selection. Veteran captain Lionel Messi secured a place in attack following another influential tournament, while centre-back Lisandro Martínez was recognised for his defensive consistency.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham also made the team after a string of impressive performances, while Norway striker Erling Haaland was selected following his goalscoring exploits during the tournament.
Completing the Best XI is Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, whose outstanding performances between the posts made him one of the biggest revelations of the 2026 World Cup.
