Southern traditional rulers’ reaffirms support for Tinubu

The Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers’ Council has reaffirmed her support for the President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its policies directed at economic emancipation and national stability.

The Council made up of traditional rulers from the South East, South West and South South regions, made the reaffirmation in its recent meeting.

Its chairman, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, reiterated that although the Council remains strictly apolitical, all resolutions from the meeting would be formally communicated to President Tinubu as a demonstration of the Council’s solidarity and readiness to partner with the Federal Government.

A statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Council, Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, said the traditional rulers used the platform to call for sustained peace, genuine reconciliation and necessary structural reforms within the Council.

“We collectively reaffirmed our support for the President’s administration and its policies directed at economic emancipation and national stability.

“The Council also reaffirmed its unrelenting commitment to fostering unity among traditional institutions in Southern Nigeria and pledged continued support for national development and stability,” he stated.

He said key resolutions adopted at the meeting include, “Greater inclusion of state chairmen in the Council’s executive structure to ensure broader representation.

“Improved communication channels and enhanced organisational clarity to prevent past operational lapses. “The need for a united and formidable front to enable the Council to play a more impactful role in national affairs.”

The traditional rulers agreed to continue to strengthen its institutional framework, promote unity across the region and contribute meaningfully to the overall development and progress of Nigeria.
