South West group endorses Ambode, Oyetola For re-election

A socio-political group, South West Renaissance Movement (SWRN) has endorsed former governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola a former Governor of Osun state for re-election.

The group said the former Lagos and Osun governors are some of the leaders from South West zone that left legacy projects during their tenures, saying they are still popular among the people who appreciate their contributions in raising the bar of good governance.

In his address at the South West political summit held in Lagos, the National Director General of SWRN, Amb. Olabode Adeleke said Ambode and Oyetola have unfinished assignments the people need them to complete, as the race for the 2027 elections take centre stage in the political environment.

Adeleke said, “These two fine gentlemen may not have been treated right, especially in Lagos where Ambode was not given fair treatment in his quest to secure the ticket of APC at the primaries to run for a second term.

“Today, Lagos people still deeply appreciate his modest efforts to improve their lives in various sectors, with his numerous legacy projects bearing his beautiful signature.

“In Osun as well, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola is still a strong force to reckon with as the people are craving for his return to government house. The APC government raised governance to a new high which was manifestly seen in the livelihood.

“The return of these two leaders to government is at the heart of development. We need to galvanize our support for them to ensure that we put our region on the pedestal of uninterrupted development. It will start with putting efforts together to make sure they return to government”, he said.

The group also commended the governors of Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states for making the states proud with effective leadership with the APC is known for.

It also reiterated its commitment to APC to take back Oyo state from the PDP in order to connect the people to the national government.

The group also called for the support of all Nigerians to ensure that President Bola Tinubu is overwhelmingly supported for a second term in office.
