South Africa coach Hugo Broos has expressed his disappointment over the poor condition of the pitch of the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, where they will battle the Super Eagles in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier.

The pitch has sandy patches no thanks to having being used for various other events, from rugby to COSAFA Cup.

“I am really, really disappointed when I saw the pitch,” complained Broos, whose eye-catching passing game could be adversely affected by such a playing surface.

“They didn’t make an effort to give us a fantastic pitch to play on.”

Bafana Bafana will battle Lesotho on Friday, before a Titanic clash against the Super Eagles on September 9.
