Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has won his Polling Unit 002, Umuezeadigo Street, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, after the state election.
Soludo, the APGA candidate, polled a total of 417 votes, while his closest rival, the APC candidate, received four votes, and the Accord candidate secured just one vote.
A total of eight invalid votes were recorded from 430 accredited voters at the polling unit.
The result was officially announced at 5:30 p.m. by the Presiding Officer, Miss Obiorah Anwulike, our correspondent reports.
It would be recalled that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, cast their votes today at about 1.15 p.m. at the Ofuiyi Polling Unit 002 in Anambra State during the gubernatorial election.

At the polling unit, Governor Soludo was welcomed by election officials and a gathering of enthusiastic supporters, all eager to witness the democratic process in action. After completing the necessary verification and authentication, the Governor and his wife proceeded to cast their votes, a gesture that emphasised the importance of civic engagement in shaping the future of the state.
In his remarks following the voting process, Governor Soludo described the election atmosphere as peaceful and well-organised. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efforts in ensuring a smooth electoral process, noting that the early reports from various polling units indicated minimal disruptions and a high level of voter enthusiasm.
“We are witnessing a true expression of democracy today. It is heartening to see citizens coming out to exercise their right to vote in such a peaceful environment,” the governor stated. He urged all eligible voters to participate actively, emphasising that every vote counts in determining the direction of the state,” he said.
