Tottenham Hotspur will be without striker Dominic Solanke for their Premier League match against Everton on Saturday.
The £65 million signing sustained an ankle injury early in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City. And although he played through the injury, it worsened the next day, ruling him out of the Everton play.
“Dom picked up a knock in the last game,” Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed, adding, that “he got through the game but it flared up the day after and he’ll miss the game tomorrow.”
The extent of the injury is still unknown, and Postecoglou is unable to confirm whether Solanke will be available for the trip to Newcastle the following weekend.
“It’s an ankle injury, he copped it really early on, someone went across his ankle. It just depends on his recovery [when he returns], obviously we’ve got the international break, but it’s not serious,” Postecoglou said.

In Solanke’s absence, Richarlison might start in the starting lineup versus his old team. The attacker from Brazil entered the game as a substitute for Leicester due to rumours about his future with the team. Pedro Porro, who scored against the Foxes, is still available even though he hobbled off due to a foot problem.
However, Rodrigo Bentancur remains sidelined due to concussion protocol. On a more positive note, Yves Bissouma is available for selection after serving a club suspension. “Biss is available but we’ve got some options there,” stated Postecoglou. “The whole idea of trying to bulk up the squad is for these situations. He’s available for selection. The bridge building continues.”
Tottenham will be looking to defeat Everton and record their first victory of the season. Spurs allowed the Foxes back into the game after a strong first-half showing against Leicester, finally settling for a draw.
With a challenging run of fixtures on the horizon, including matches against Newcastle, Manchester United, and Arsenal, Postecoglou will be eager to have Solanke back to full fitness as soon as possible.
