Sokoto United’s thrilling 3-1 win over Zamfara United in their NNL Week 4 encounter has earned the team N1 million, courtesy of philanthropist Bashir Black Attahiru.
The team received an initial N500,000 before the match, with the promise of an additional N500,000 if they emerged victorious.
The match saw Sokoto United take the lead in the fifth minute, with Zamfara United equalising in the second minute of additional time in the first half.

Their persistence paid off, with goals in the 82nd and 89th minutes securing their 3-1 victory.
Speaking after the event, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Engineer Mustapha Mohammed, assured the team of total support in their bid for success in the Nigeria National League season.
Mohammed praised the team’s victory, promising to cater to their welfare and provide motivation to help them perform optimally.
