The office of the chairman of Tangaza Local Government in Sokoto, Hon. Isha Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, has dissociated himself from a document circulating on social media platforms, describing it as “false and baseless”.

In a statement issued from his office, Chairman Kalanjeni urged the people of the LGA to disregard the document, which he claimed was a product of mischief aimed at achieving a sinister objective.

The document, which has been widely shared on social media, was said to be from the House of Representatives Member representing Gudu/Tangaza constituency, Hon. Sani Yakubu, requesting to build a modern market in the LG stadium.

The document read: “As part of my commitment to community growth and development of our constituency, I am pleased to inform you that a committee has been established for the development of a modern market in Gidan Madi, Tangaza LGA.

“In line with this initiative, I am formally requesting for Gidan Madi stadium to facilitate this project construction. This development will provide a structure and enabling trading environment.”

Kalanjeni denied any acknowledgement of the document contrary to what is circulating on social media, stating that the state government has put plans in place to provide such facilities in a suitable place.

“The people of Tangaza Local Government should not be deceived by this document,” Chairman Kalanjeni warned.

The Chairman assured the people of Tangaza Local Government that his administration remains committed to delivering on its campaign promises and improving the lives of the people.

“We will not be distracted by these baseless allegations,” Chairman Kalanjeni said. “We will continue to work tirelessly to deliver on our promises and take Tangaza Local Government to greater heights in line with Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s 9-point smart agenda.”
