The Sokoto State Police Command marked National Police Day with a free medical outreach program, providing essential healthcare services to residents across the state.

The outreach, held at the Sokoto Central Motor Park, offered medical consultations, blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, malaria testing, and distribution of essential medications as well as health education sessions, which were also conducted to raise awareness about prevalent health issues and preventive measures.

While speaking, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ahmed Musa, said that the program aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s community policing agenda.

He said the Nigeria Police Force is not only committed to maintaining law and order but also to the overall well-being of the people, adding that the free medical outreach reflects their dedication to community service.

The initiative received overwhelming positive feedback from beneficiaries.

The secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Sokoto branch, Alhaji Labaran Garba, expressed gratitude and pledged their members’ support for the program, highlighting the access to much-needed healthcare for many residents, especially the elderly and less privileged who couldn’t otherwise afford such services.

The Sokoto State Police Command expressed appreciation to the medical professionals, volunteers, and partners who made the program a success.

The Command reiterated its commitment to community-focused initiatives aimed at enhancing well-being and strengthening police-community relations.
