Governor Ahmad Aliyu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to transform Sokoto State into an economically strong and self-reliant entity through sustained reforms and development projects across key sectors.

Speaking while declaring open the 12th Regular Executive Council Meeting for 2025, Governor Aliyu said his government remains focused on implementing people-centred initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of citizens and positioning the state for long-term growth.

“I want to reassure you of our determination to ensure a new Sokoto State that our generation and those yet unborn would be proud of. We will continue to prioritise infrastructural and human development as part of our overall efforts to advance our dear state.”

He said that several ongoing projects are strategically designed to stimulate economic activities, enhance public infrastructure, and empower communities across the state. He emphasised that his administration’s development blueprint seeks to bridge existing gaps in critical areas such as healthcare, education, and agriculture.

On security, the governor restated his commitment to working closely with security agencies to address the challenges affecting parts of the state.

“We will not relent in our efforts to ensure peaceful coexistence and lasting peace in our dear state.”

He also appealed for the support and cooperation of all well-meaning citizens to enable the government to realise its vision of a prosperous and peaceful Sokoto. He commended members of the State Executive Council for their contributions to the administration’s successes so far and expressed appreciation to the people for their continued prayers and goodwill.

“Our collective effort is what will make Sokoto great again,” he said, adding that the government remains steadfast in delivering on its promises to voters.
