Organiser by Signature Beyond Gallery, Ikoyi, Lagos, the Sogal 2026 auction has been described as “celebrating the artists, honouring the legacy, and inspiring the collector.” The gallery recalled the history of African art from pioneering figures who shaped the continent’s modernism to influential contemporary voices. This rich history is exactly what Sogal’s Echoes of Legacy 2026 brings together in a distinguished selection of artists whose works reflect the richness, diversity, and enduring power of African art.
“For the discerning collector, this is an opportunity to discover remarkable works, connect with important artistic legacies, and make a meaningful addition to a collection,” Signature Beyond Gallery assured collectors. “Discover the works and own a piece of the legacy.” The gallery added that the auction will be conducted exclusively online through the official Sogal auction platform. Registered bidders are encouraged to participate in the live auction on auction.sogalart.com
The gallery advised bidders who are unable to participate during the live online auction to submit absentee bids by email to [email protected]. “All absentee bids must include the bidder’s full name, contact details, lot number(s), and maximum bid for each lot. All submissions are subject to verification and acceptance by Sogal.”
The organisers added that new bidders must provide valid proof of identity and complete the required registration procedures. Failure to provide the necessary information may result in a bid not being processed, the gallery stated. “Absentee bids must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. (WAT) on Saturday, 7 November 2026, the day before the auction.”
Meanwhile, participants are urged to note that “submitting an absentee bid does not guarantee a successful purchase. All bids are subject to Sogal’s auction terms and conditions.”
Intending bidders are further advised to examine the catalogue descriptions and available condition reports carefully before placing a bid. Bidders are responsible for satisfying themselves as to the condition, authenticity details, and suitability of any lot before bidding.
Where necessary, bidders should contact Sogal to request additional information or condition reports before submitting their bids.
