SNDR 2025 collection: Sustainability meets structure and comfort

The fashion industry is rapidly changing, but the changes are shifting brands to deliver sustainable styles that prioritise comfort over trends. Only a few fashion houses have succeeded in capturing the very heart of fashion that speaks to fluidity while supporting contemporary sustainability. SNDR Mode is one of such brands. Since 2019, the fashion line has continued to reinvent the fashion space with bold, modern, sustainable styles without sacrificing ease.

SNDR Mode is a sustainable womenswear label, and behind this enterprise is a visionary woman, Sandra Ugochi Igwe, who is both the founder and the creative director. With a passion for merging West African craft with vogue styles, she started SNDR Mode with a clear vision: couture-informed, sustainable design for women who want to own their space and show up confidently in the world.

Every collection from the fashion label, SNDR Mode, reflects Sandra’s commitment to bridging the gap between architectural structure and fluid movement. The brand expresses this through detailed tailoring, sculptural sleeves, and precise cuts. With the belief that sustainability starts with making less and making better, SNDR Mode partners with local artisans to source responsible materials in crafting beautiful pieces.

In its 2025 collection, SNDR Mode redefines the African fashion space for the international stage. Each piece in this collection is a ‘confident letter’ to the modern, everyday woman, with elegant styles.

The SNDR Mode 2025 collection is a call to women across creative, executive, and ceremonial spaces. If you are a woman who values presence, practicality, and principle altogether, this is your invitation to explore the collection and choose a piece.

Let’s dig in!

The first piece in the 2025 collection shows the high craftsmanship amongst the brand’s team. At first sight, pairing a red top and black trousers appears simple, but that’s not all there is to it. The piece is crafted elegantly, standing in the line where boldness meets restraint.

The red top also commands attention. The choice of material and colour is a smart move from SNDR Mode. The hue is neither saccharine nor too bold, and the material enhances the richness of the red. Their combination gives the wearer a dual nature: soft yet strong, refined yet unafraid.

From this view, the neckline frames the neck with its clean and structured finish. But it is the sleeve that brings an air of uniqueness. Their fluffy, large design, positioned upward, adds movement and drama. It is how they break free from the ordinary and introduce a fluid element against the top’s firm structure.

Now, to the trousers. The top paired with the understated trousers gives a perfect look to the wearer. The trousers with their structured yet flowing design truly represent what SNDR Mode stands for: structure and fluidity.

From the vantage angle, the sleeves take on a new look. They are not just large; they are created with detail and precision. Again, the SNDR Mode shows a high level of craftsmanship. Another captivating feature is just at the bottom part of the top, where the hem forms a V-shape. Attached to the hem is an additional design from the same material, extending towards the back, that adds depth without breaking the flow.

And at the back, the top is held firmly by a zipper, which offers easy movement in and out of the clothes. Worthy of mention is the neat finish and clean lines at the back. The trousers also have the same clean finish.

However, there are still necessary improvements to be made on the piece. One, the design, though elegant, stands on the risk of leaning too heavily on the top. The black trousers, also classic, give the red top the responsibility of carrying some flair. This imbalance may feel less adventurous, especially to female audiences who love the bold interplay of colours. The sleeves fall into the same opinion: for some, it shows high creativity, and for others, it might be excessive. Similarly, the V-form extension at the hem could be seen as overcomplicating the design. The additional element adds weight to a design that already thrives on fluidity.

Moreover, the back zipper, while practical, may not align with the piece’s creative poise. The piece is innovative, so the zipper contrasts with the bold statement made by the front and the sleeves.

Regardless, this piece captures SNDR’s commitment to fluidity and structure, making it ideal for women who want to make a statement in their next meetings. It is versatile for both boardroom meetings and places where confidence is the key.

In short, this piece is more than just an outfit; it is wearable confidence.

This is a striped ensemble, featuring a light blue and white striped dress layered with white trousers.  The round neckline frames the wearer’s neck simply, drawing onlookers’ attention to the detailing below. While the short, fitted sleeves add sharpness to the look, they show a contrast to the outfit’s free design, downward.

Then, at the waist, the cinched elastic brings a playful but flattering shape. Again, it lifts the dress upward, giving structure to what could have passed off as just a casual look. This is a creative move, but the cinched elastic at the waist might not flatter all body types, as an elastic waist can sometimes look bulky rather than giving definition to the wearer’s shape.

The hemline is particularly striking. It fell just past the knee. The asymmetrical cut with the open side creates free movement. And then the layered, stepped side panels add depth, giving the piece an architectural feel without compromising on the dress’s breezy nature.

At the back, SNDR Mode brings its cleverness: adding a hidden zip. The zip offers practicality. With the seamless finish at the back, no one could have guessed a zipper was there.

Pairing the dress with white trousers looks smooth, but it stands a chance of blending rather than standing out. This is because both colours are light. However, you could consider pairing with a contrasting or neutral shade like grey or cream, to give the overall look more distinction.

Overall, SNDR Mode has done well with the piece, showing the world how a simple striped fabric can be turned into a design rich with detail and versatility. Only one brand could make this happen: SNDR Mode. From a casual daytime piece into a versatile outfit that could suit professional, social, and semi-formal occasions, this piece is for the modern, everyday woman.

SNDR Mode never stops surprising the fashion space with beautiful pieces. The last outfit is a floral print kaftan gown popularly known as a ‘bubu’. The gown design whispers a story that celebrates freedom, colour, and cultural reinterpretation. The material with its blue and white floral pattern reminds one of the coolness of the sea and ocean.

The neckline wraps the silhouette delicately, while drawing attention to the lower part of the piece. Right at the centre, white fringes are thoughtfully placed, giving a contrast to the flowing fabric. While this adds visual interest and playful movement, the placement of the fringes looks disrupted as opposed to the gown’s fluidity and simplicity. The design team should consider replacing it with a beaded decorative element or embroidery. This could better elevate the gown and make it feel more part of the overall piece.

The sleeve is free and wide. At the tip, the same fringes are added, showing more details to the gown’s fluid design. And then the gown flows all the way to the toes, showing what it means to be comfortable and graceful. It shows a balance between being at ease while still making a statement. However, offering both a full-length and mid-length version could enlarge its versatility. The shorter cut would appeal to younger women and those who value easy movement.

Here, the piece is still positioned well on the wearer. However, something can still be done to add structure, especially for women with a petite frame, without compromising the gown’s free design. A detachable belt or sash could be added, leaving wearers the option of adjusting to fit their sizes. The fringe also extends to the back. But on a second look, the back could do better with a creative finish, such as a keyhole cutout, a button detailing, or even a layered drape.

This piece from the 2025 collection proves that elegant style can still be rocked without compromising comfort. If you are looking for a versatile gown for different meetings, this outfit is suitable for a relaxed afternoon event and even a formal cultural gathering.

The 2025 collection empowers women with the kind of poise that can shake up a room while prioritising comfort and fluidity over trends.
