Six Nissan and INFINITI vehicles have been named to the 2025 Cars.com American-Made Index, a leading annual ranking that recognises vehicles with the greatest contribution to the U.S. economy based on production, sourcing and employment data.
Leading the charge is the 2025 Nissan Pathfinder at No. 20, followed by Murano (No. 59), Altima (No. 60), INFINITI QX60 (No. 65), Frontier (No. 71) and Rogue (No. 98). These rankings underscore Nissan Group’s strong commitment to U.S. manufacturing and its continued investment in American workers and communities.
“Six vehicles making the list shows how deeply Nissan is invested in assembling vehicles where we sell, and doing it with quality,” said David Johnson, regional senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas. “This recognition underscores our dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles in the U.S. and supporting thousands of American jobs.”
“Nissan and INFINITI’s performance on this year’s American-Made Index reflects the brands’ strong manufacturing presence in the U.S.,” said Patrick Masterson, lead researcher for Cars.com’s American-Made Index. “The Nissan Pathfinder, Frontier, and Murano—as well as the Infiniti QX60—all earned spots on the Index thanks to their assembly in Tennessee and solid domestic parts content. These vehicles are built for the needs of American drivers—whether it’s a family SUV, a capable midsize pickup, or a luxury crossover—and they play an important role in supporting U.S. jobs and the local economy.”
All six models are assembled in the United States, where Nissan has had manufacturing operations since 1983 and INFINITI since 1989.
The Pathfinder, Rogue, Murano and INFINITI QX60 are produced at Nissan’s Smyrna facility in Tennessee. Last year, Nissan Smyrna assembled nearly 101,500 Pathfinder vehicles, 143,800 Rogue vehicles and 32,000 INFINITI QX60 vehicles. Murano, which began U.S. production in 2014 and moved to Smyrna in 2020, will soon reach an all-time milestone of 700,000 units.
Pathfinder, Murano and INFINITI QX60 are assembled exclusively in the U.S.
Altima and Frontier have been assembled in the U.S. since the 1990s, with production moving to Canton, Miss. in 2004 and 2012, respectively. Canton assembled more than 124,300 Altima vehicles and 77,500 Frontier vehicles in 2024. Altima is assembled exclusively in the U.S.
Engines for all six recognized models are built at Nissan’s powertrain plant in Decherd, Tenn.
The Smyrna, Canton and Decherd plants are key pillars of Nissan Group’s North American operations, employing nearly 13,000 skilled workers, representing $14.9 billion in investment, and contributing significantly to local economies.
The Cars.com American-Made Index evaluates vehicles based on:
●Final assembly location
●Percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts
●Country of origin for engines and transmissions
●U.S. manufacturing workforce relative to the automaker’s footprint
More than 400 model-year 2025 vehicles were analysed, with only 100 making the final list, highlighting the significance of Nissan’s achievement.
In Nigeria, the Nissan brand is represented by Stallion NMN Ltd, a member of the Stallion Group of Companies, which assembles a range of the vehicles at a plant located in Lagos
Stallion NMN Ltd also boasts a nationwide network of sales and after-sales facilities, including showrooms, well equipped workshops, and stocks of genuine replacement parts.
