Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is considering a new role for Ademola Lookman as he seeks to help the Super Eagles star rediscover his best form.
According to Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, Simeone is exploring a 4-3-3 formation that could see Lookman operate on the left wing.
This season, the former African Footballer of the Year has played in multiple positions, including left winger, support striker, center forward and attacking midfielder.
Lookman made an impressive start following his arrival from Atalanta during the winter transfer window, scoring and assisting in Atletico’s 5-0 victory over Real Betis.
The 29-year-old went on to deliver crucial performances, helping Atletico reach the Copa del Rey final and the Champions League semi-finals.

He finished the campaign with nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances.
However, Lookman has struggled for consistency this season, recording two goals and one assist in 13 appearances, totalling 692 minutes.
Although he recently assisted Julian against Stuttgart, his impact against Deportivo was limited, leading to his half-time substitution.
Simeone hopes a tactical adjustment will reignite Lookman’s performances and help him regain his importance in the squad.
