Silver Lining committed to helping indigent people – Okoroma

Programmes Assistant of Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative, Eleanor Okoroma, has reiterated the mission of the Non-governmental organisation, which is aimed at assisting the indigents.

Okoroma stated this in a statement to mark 14 years of impactful service of the organisation recently in Abuja.

He said the event was a testament to the dedication and efforts of SLNI’s team and volunteers who have worked to address critical societal issues, foster sustainable development, and uplift marginalised communities.

He said: “Silver Lining for the Needy, a reputable non-governmental organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and communities, proudly celebrated its 14th year anniversary at a spectacular Gala event held on 18th June, 2023.

“The anniversary Gala, a momentous occasion brought together esteemed guests, dignitaries, partners, volunteers, and supporters under one roof to commemorate the remarkable journey of the organization and to honor the incredible achievements made over the past 14 years.

“The event was a testament to the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of SLNI’s team and volunteers who have worked relentlessly to address critical societal issues, foster sustainable development, and uplift marginalized communities.

“With a focus on strengthening the capacity of rural communities towards sustainable maternal, newborn, child and adolescent healthcare projects, SLNI has consistently strived to create lasting change and provide hope for a better future.

“The anniversary Gala served as a platform to highlight the significant milestones accomplished by SLNI.

“Through engaging presentations and impactful stories, attendees witnessed firsthand the transformative power of SLNI, which has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals across Nigeria.

“The Gala also provided an opportunity for supporters to interact with beneficiaries, hear their inspiring stories, and gain a deeper understanding of the profound impact that SLNI has had on their lives.

“During the Gala, the organization expressed gratitude towards its dedicated partners, sponsors, and volunteers who have been instrumental in the organization’s success.

“Their unwavering support, financial contributions, and expertise have enabled SLNI to implement innovative programs and expand its reach, maximizing the positive impact on communities in need.

“SLNI’s 14th year anniversary Gala served as a reminder of the incredible impact that can be achieved when communities unite for a common cause.

“The event not only celebrated the achievements of the past but also ignited renewed enthusiasm and commitment to continue the journey towards a more equitable and sustainable world.”

He pointed out that “SLNI was granted special consultative status in 2021 by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN), the highest status to be granted to an NGO outlined in Article 71 of the UN charter.

“Our mission is to implement projects towards realizing the dream of living above limitations in the society.”
