Sights and sounds of Rivers crisis


Rivers State descended into chaos after Governor Siminalayi Fubara ordered local government chairmen to vacate their offices following the expiration of their tenures. While the governor announced that Heads of Local Government Administration would assume control, several chairmen loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike resisted the order. This led to violent confrontations with youths and security forces, resulting in the pro-Wike chairmen being chased away.
