The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has challenged former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to identify major projects executed in Plateau State during his eight years in office.

Yilwatda made the remarks while addressing APC supporters at the PBAT door-to-door movement rally in Jos, Plateau State, where he defended President Bola Tinubu’s record and urged residents to support his administration.

The APC chairman questioned what Plateau State gained from the period when Atiku served as vice-president, challenging supporters of the former presidential candidate to point to significant projects delivered during that time.

“Atiku was president, vice-president for eight years. Show me one route, show me one thing that within those eight years we had on the Plateau. Show me one $10 billion project on the Plateau within that period,” Yilwatda said.

He argued that the projects available to residents during the period were limited, recalling that boreholes and small-scale interventions were among the benefits communities received.

“The best we can have in those days is a borehole. The best we can have in those days is they’ll bring Kinikina for us,” he said.

Yilwatda contrasted that period with what he described as major projects being brought to Plateau State under Tinubu’s administration.

He listed the University of Jos and the Federal Medical Centre among the projects he attributed to the President, alongside other hospital and infrastructure initiatives.

“He gave us Federal University of Education, Pankshin. He gave us Federal Medical Center. He gave us orthopedic Hospital. He has assigned so many projects for the Plateau,” the APC chairman said.

Yilwatda also told supporters that his position as national chairman placed him within the party’s leadership structure, arguing that the APC had strong political reasons to seek continued support in the state.

The remarks form part of the APC’s efforts to promote Tinubu’s record and mobilise support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
