As part of the Bola Tinubu administration’s dedication to the North East’s growth and development, Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to lay the foundation stone for the permanent headquarters of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Wednesday, June 19.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, this is part of the administration’s commitment to the North East’s sustainable development through holistic security, reconstruction, food production, and job creation programs.
In addition to the foundation laying ceremony, the statement said the Vice President will also flag off the distribution of essential agricultural inputs and equipment procured by the NEDC aimed to boost agricultural production and create jobs in the region.
Furthermore, Shettima will inspect the progress on the first phase of construction on the 27km Jere Bowl Road Network in Mafa/Jere local government area and perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of the project.
Expected at this event are state governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across the region.
