Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the Abuja residence of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to personally condole with him over the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.
The visit was announced by Stanley Nkwocha, media aide to the vice president, via X @stanleynkwocha_. Hajiya Umma passed away in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday after a brief illness at an advanced age.

During the visit, Vice President Shettima described the late Hajiya Umma as a woman of great virtue and a pillar of strength for her family. He offered prayers for the repose of her soul and strength for the El-Rufai family during this period of mourning.
The El-Rufai family has received widespread condolences from political figures across Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and others have expressed sympathy, with Hajiya Umma laid to rest on Sunday at Gudu Cemetery in Abuja.
