Shettima commends MacArthur Foundation’s role in Nigeria’s devt, democracy

Vice President Kashim Shettima has applauded the MacArthur Foundation for its substantial contributions to Nigeria’s development and democracy over the past 30 years.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the VP, who spoke at a forum in Abuja to celebrate the foundation’s anniversary, urged the organisation to strengthen its partnership with the Federal Government to expedite the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s policies.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration in governance, stating that “no government can or should function in isolation.”
Shettima highlighted the foundation’s impact on promoting accountability and good governance, inviting it to work closely with the government to fulfil its promises to the nation.
Reflecting on the foundation’s interventions, he noted that its support has empowered many organisations and individuals advocating for democratic values.
He acknowledged the foundation’s dedication to uplifting vulnerable communities in Nigeria, saying marking its 30-year journey showed commitment and courage.
