Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has reached another career milestone after his collaboration with Colombian star Shakira, ‘Dai Dai’, became the highest-charting FIFA World Cup song in history.
The track climbed 25 places on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 to reach a new peak of No. 17, surpassing Shakira and Freshlyground’s iconic 2010 World Cup anthem, ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’.
The song also rose to No. 3 on the Canadian Hot 100 and is currently in contention for the top spot on the UK Official Singles Chart.
The achievement marks another global success for Burna Boy and further cements ‘Dai Dai’ as one of the biggest musical highlights of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, Billboard has announced the discontinuation of its World Digital Song Sales chart.
The final issue was dated June 27, 2026.
The chart ranked as one of the most commercially successful songs from territories such as Nigeria Asia, Caribbean, South Africa, and other countries.
Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Mr Eazi and Rema previously topped the chart.
