SGF urges religious leaders to foster unity, peaceful existence

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has called on religious leaders to actively collaborate with the Federal Government to promote national unity and peaceful coexistence, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Receiving a delegation led by Chairman of the Northern Pentecostal and Charismatic Bishops Communion of Nigeria, Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, Akume hampered on the vital role of faith leaders in advancing interfaith harmony and supporting government efforts to strengthen security.

According to a statement issued by Director, Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the SGF is quoted as saying: “Religious leaders hold a sacred responsibility to guide their followers towards peace and unity. We need your partnership to build a Nigeria where all can coexist peacefully,” he said.

He lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance, noting, “President Tinubu is a true patriot who embraces unity and ensures inclusive governance. His administration is making notable progress in education, infrastructure, the economy, and security.”

Archbishop Daniel, expressed gratitude for the government’s initiatives, particularly the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Science in Kachia, Southern Kaduna. He said, “We deeply appreciate President Tinubu’s dedication to economic development and security improvements, which have enhanced agricultural productivity and reduced food prices.”

The Archbishop, who is also celebrated for his leadership in peacebuilding and nation-building, prayed for the continued success of President Tinubu’s administration and the nation’s progress.

The meeting concluded with prayers for Nigeria’s unity and prosperity under renewed hope and restoration.
