Kwara North lawmaker Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, popularly known as 3SU, has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of Kwara North and the wider Kwara State, to remain patient and supportive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the state government, assuring that the current economic hardship is temporary and will soon give way to positive outcomes.
In his New Year message on Wednesday, the stalwart senator of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) did not shy away from admitting the current economic difficulties confronting Nigerians but insisted that the tough policy decisions taken by the Federal Government were necessary steps in the overall interest of the country.
“I know things are very difficult. This is a tough time; tough decisions have been made by our government, but it’s in the interest of the good of the country,” Umar said.
Senator Umar, who represents Kwara North Senatorial District comprising Baruten, Edu, Pategi, Kaiama, and Moro local government areas, also praised Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his determination and commitment to advancing development across the state despite prevailing economic challenges.
According to him, the governor is working tirelessly to reposition Kwara State for sustainable growth, even as fiscal pressures affect governance nationwide.
“Our state governor is working very hard to move the state to the next level. Things are equally tough for him, but the efforts will still give results very soon,” he stated.
The lawmaker urged citizens to continue supporting leaders at all levels of government, stressing that collective patience, understanding, and prayers are crucial for the success of those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.

“Once again, please let’s continue to be patient, let’s continue to be understanding with our leaders across the board. From the lowest level to the highest level, let’s continue to support them, pray for them as our various religions have recommended, so that they will succeed,” Umar appealed.
He emphasised that leadership success ultimately translates into improved welfare for citizens and accelerated development at the grassroots.
Expressing optimism about the future, Senator Umar assured constituents that better days lie ahead for Kwara North, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole, provided citizens maintain faith in governance and national reforms.
“And when they succeed, all of us will be happy. Kwara North will be great, Kwara State will be great, and Nigeria will be great,” he said.
Umar, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Business—a strategic position that places him at the heart of legislative coordination and parliamentary governance—concluded his New Year message by thanking constituents across Kwara North and the entire state for their continued support, reaffirming his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy.
“I want to once again thank everyone in Kwara North and indeed the whole state who has been supporting me in making sure that we deliver, you know, the dividends of democracy as they say,” he added.
