The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, received the former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, in his office at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja.

The former Zamfara Governor has been diligent in discharging his constitutional roles, ensuring the safety of the nation’s territorial integrity.

During the meeting, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, engaged Senator Rochas Okorocha in meaningful deliberations on critical issues of national development.

Some of the key issues discussed included security and the collective responsibility of all citizens to promote peace and unity across the country.

Senator Okorocha, during the visit, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Renewed Hope Initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a more secure, prosperous, and inclusive Nigeria.

Senator Rochas Okorocha and Dr Bello Matawalle have been good friends for a long time, with the former Imo State Governor having previously visited Matawalle at the Government House in Gusau during his tenure as Zamfara State Governor.

The Minister of State for Defence, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives, appreciated the visit and commended Senator Rochas Okorocha for putting Nigeria first.

According to Matawalle, together they will continue to work towards delivering a meaningful and prosperous Nigeria.
