The Senator representing Abia North District at the upper legislative chamber, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has, in continuation of his intervention in the education sector in his constituency, began the distribution of desks to some schools in the area.
Senator Kalu had before now embarked on the reconstruction and renovation of schools which he followed with the distribution of textbooks, exercise books, school bags, and school uniforms.
Speaking at the Amanta Community Primary School, Abiriba, in Ohafia Local Government Area, the representative of Senator Kalu, Uche said since education is the foundation of every prosperous society, the Senator has consistently demonstrated his commitment to strengthening that foundation across Abia North.
“Senator Kalu began with the reconstruction and renovation of schools which he followed with the distribution of textbooks, exercise books, school bags, and school uniforms, and now the provision of school desks, his investments continue to touch thousands of young lives. “Education is the foundation of every prosperous society, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has consistently demonstrated his commitment to strengthening that foundation across Abia North.
“This is only the beginning. The next phase will be the transformation of our schools into digital classrooms, equipped with smart boards, computers, AI-powered learning platforms, robotics laboratories, and internet-enabled teaching tools.
At Amamba/Ukpo community primary school, Abiriba, also in Ohafia Local Government Area, where desks were equally distributed, the representative said preparing children from the area to compete with their peers in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other leading nations of the world is the aim of Senator Kalu.
“Preparing our children to compete with their peers in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other leading nations is the intention of Senator Kalu”.

He said the Senator is transforming classrooms in Abia North one community at a time, adding that the exercise is a continuous one.
The joy of teachers and pupils of the benefitting schools knew no bounds as they expressed happiness over the donations by Kalu.
The Head Teacher of Amanda Community Primary School, Mrs. Ukaegbu Chidinma, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Senator for remembering them.
Mrs. Ukaegbu said they were, particularly, happy because many pupils who previously lacked seats can now learn comfortably, adding that this was a powerful reminder that impactful leadership changes lives.
The Head Teacher of Amamba/Ukpo Community Primary School, Mrs. Kalu Florence Ojiji, alongside teachers, stakeholders, and jubilant pupils, also celebrated Senator Kalu’s timely intervention.
Thanking the senator, a native of the area, Olua, said Abia North deserves continuity in purposeful leadership.
He added that re-electing Senator Kalu will maintain the momentum on his intervention in education and other development initiatives, stressing that as the 2027 election approaches, voters will decide which vision they believe is best for the future of Abia North.
