Says death great loss to entertainment industry, Nigeria

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, otherwise known as Yayi, has expressed great sadness and regret at the demise of popular Nollywood actor, Mr Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, alias Ogogo, after an illness.
Ogogo passed away on Sunday after battling Stage Four cancer. He was 66 years old.
In a condolence message to the family of the late actor, the senator, in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, on Sunday night, said the demise of Ogogo was a great loss to the creative and entertainment industry, stressing that his passing at this time was a loss to the family, Ogun State and, indeed, Nigeria.

“I am greatly saddened by the death of a brother who believed and worked assiduously for my cause and the cause of our people. I sympathize with his immediate family for their efforts and struggles to keep the dearly departed alive following his illness. God knows best in all circumstances,” the senator was quoted to have said in the statement.
Adeola added that the late actor’s role in the drive for a better society through filmmaking and other positive advocacy would always be remembered, saying that he left a legacy worthy of emulation.
The senator promised to continue to support the immediate family in their hour of need, adding that the good deeds of the patriarch of the family to society would not be forgotten.
The Ogun APC governorship candidate prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the thespian and fortitude for the immediate family to bear the irreparable loss of the dearly departed.
