Senate invites defunct Air Nigeria over bailout loan

The Senate Committee on Aviation has invited defunt Air Nigeria to a public hearing on the disbursement and utilisation of $40 million AFRIXIM loan and N86.6 billion alleged to have been released by the Federal Government for the rehabilitation and development of infrastructure in the aviation industry. The public hearing holds on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Senate Conference room 231, National Assembly, Abuja.
A letter to Mr. John Nnorom, former finance director of Air Nigeria, signed by Senator Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation, states: “Sequel to the above, you are hereby invited to present a written submission on what you know about the utilisation of the aforementioned facilities released to the Air Nigeria in 2010 for the development of the airline.
“Your submission, which must be in 15 copies, should reach the joint Senate Committee on Aviation and Anti-Corruption Secretariat Room, 4.6 White House, National Assembly, Abuja on or before Friday, 27th June 2016 (today).
“You are expected to appear at the inauguration of the public hearing on Monday, 20th June by 10am.”
