Abia North Senator, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, in partnership with the Government of the People’s Republic of China, has announced the successful departure of the fifth batch of beneficiaries under his academic and social skills development programme.
Three outstanding participants from Abia North senatorial zone departed Nigeria on Tuesday to attend a senior management seminar on Marine Biodiversity Conservation for Developing Countries.
The programme, facilitated through the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, is hosted by the Fujian Institute of Oceanography in China. The selected participants include Nnenna Anthonia Onoh (Arochukwu Local Government Area), Kelechi Paul Uche (Bende Local Government Area) and Victor Chigozie Etie (Umunneochi Local Government Area)
According to the Foundation, the intensive seminar is designed to deepen participants’ expertise in marine biodiversity conservation, foster international collaboration, and promote innovation and productivity in environmental sustainability.
Senator Kalu, founder and chairman of the foundation, emphasised the importance of Nigeria–China partnerships in driving human capital development.
“The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation believes this training will create room for increased collaboration, innovation, and productivity. We are committed to empowering young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills needed to drive national and global development.”
Kalu thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, for their continued support in strengthening educational and cultural ties between both nations.
“The Chinese government has remained a steadfast partner in progress. Their sponsorship of skill-enhancing programs like this highlights their deep friendship and strategic cooperation with Nigeria,” Kalu noted.
The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to creating more opportunities for Nigerian youths through global partnerships and transformative educational programmes.
