Sen Kalu distributes educational materials to schools in Abia North

The Senator representing Abia North District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has distributed educational materials to schools across Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.

This is even as more are coming to cover all schools in the Abia North Senatorial District.

According to a statement by the media office of Senator Kalu, the latest intervention in education in his constituency includes the distribution of classroom lockers, STEM textbooks, exercise books, school bags, school uniforms, and scholarship opportunities to schools and students across Ohafia LGA.

These interventions, the statement noted,  are aimed at creating a more conducive learning environment, easing the burden on parents, and giving every child the opportunity to succeed academically.

“Education has remained one of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s highest priorities since representing Abia North Senatorial District. Through his sustained educational support programmes, thousands of students have benefited from learning materials, scholarships, classroom furniture, and other essential educational interventions.”

The statement indicated that apart from these interventions, Senator Kalu has equally facilitated the renovation and construction of schools across Abia State and donated over 3,000 reading desks to schools across Abia North, further strengthening educational infrastructure in the zone.

“His continued investment in education reflects his firm belief that the future of every society lies in the education of its children. By expanding access to quality learning resources and improving school infrastructure, he is building a stronger foundation for generations to come,” the statement added.

The following are among the schools that have so far benefited from the distribution of classroom lockers: Agbaja Community School, Nkporo; Amuri Community Primary School, Nkporo; Kpoke Primary School, Ebem Ohafia; Community Primary School, Isiugwu Ohafia; Amuma Ohafia Primary School and Okon Central School, Okon-Aku Ohafia.

Equally, the schools that have benefited from the distribution of educational materials, comprising textbooks, exercise books, and school bags include: Elu Community Primary School; Ibina Community Primary School, Ihenta Ohafia; Isiugwu Community Primary; School and Ofali-Agwu Primary School, Amaekpu Ohafia. Others are Ama-Etiti Primary School, Asaga Ohafia; Isiugwu Ohafia Comprehensive Secondary School and Ndi Uduma Awoke Ohafia Community Primary School.

It was gathered that the exercise is still ongoing, and more schools across Ohafia LGA and the remaining local government areas of Abia North will continue to benefit as the distribution progresses.
