In a decisive move to counter the alarming wave of school children kidnappings in parts of the northern region, the Katsina State Police Command has activated a comprehensive school protection mechanism.
The initiative follows a proactive directive from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to prioritise the safety and security of educational institutions.
The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, subsequently directed the Coordinator of the School Protection Squad to immediately implement all necessary school protection protocols.
This activation is designed to ensure that all educational facilities across the state are safely and continuously guarded, according to a statement on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu.
