Security experts have commended the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, popularly known as the Lagos State Taskforce, for adopting operational strategies aligned with globally recognised best practices in modern law enforcement, particularly in intelligence-led policing, inter-agency collaboration and proactive interventions designed to prevent security threats before they escalate.

Security consultant Ahmed Shittu said a defining feature of the agency’s current leadership is its strong emphasis on intelligence gathering and the strategic deployment of personnel.
According to him, rather than relying solely on conventional enforcement operations, the Taskforce has increasingly adopted intelligence-driven operations targeting identified crime hotspots and areas prone to environmental and traffic-related offences across Lagos.
“This approach enables officers to respond more effectively to security threats while ensuring that enforcement activities are conducted within the confines of the law,” Shittu said.
