Security agencies have been urged to arrest and prosecute activist Omoyele Sowore for describing President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal and a liar”.
The call was made yesterday by the General Secretary of the Leadership Centre for Civil and Post-Trauma Rehabilitation, Agbi Manzo Abubakar, who said Sowore should face consequences for his remarks against the number one citizen of the country.
Abubakar noted that Sowore had previously insulted senior public figures, including the Inspector General of Police, religious leaders, governors, and ministers, and has now extended his attacks to the presidency.
He said, “We hereby call for the arrest, thorough interrogation, and prosecution of Omoyele Sowore for his failure to recognise that freedom of expression ends where the rights of others begin.
“Any attempt to label the President a criminal is a crossing of the red line.
“Enough is enough. These orchestrated assaults on the President’s character, integrity, and track record have gone beyond the limits of tolerance and decency.”

Besides praising President Tinubu’s leadership, which he described as a “grass-to-grace” story and a beacon of hope in Nigerian governance, he highlighted his bold policy reforms, which, according to him, have brought clarity and progress to national administration.
“President Tinubu’s reforms have essentially cleansed the Augean stables. His achievements have captured the imagination of Africa and the world, proving that transformational leadership is possible on the continent,” he added.
According to him, the President has introduced unparalleled governance frameworks, along with exemplary administrative, accounting, and auditing practices, setting a new benchmark for leadership in Nigeria.
He said, “These governance templates will serve for all times and across all climes. They stand as models for effective leadership.”
He also called on Nigerians, regardless of their social or political affiliations, to stand up in defence of the presidency and Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
“Enough is enough. We must unite to protect the Office of the President and the integrity of our democracy from those who seek to tear it down.
“The Leadership Centre for Civil and Post-Trauma Rehabilitation reaffirms its unwavering support for President Tinubu and pledges to continue to defend the presidency against what it describes as all forms of malicious attacks,” he said.
