The agreement, according to SEC, is expected to provide a framework for collaboration among the three institutions on measures to encourage savings through fiscal incentives. The conference will also feature the inauguration of the NCMMP 2.0 Project Steering Committee and the Capital Market Masterplan Implementation Committee, which are expected to support the implementation of the new master plan.
The Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima will chair the conference, while the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele will host the event. The unveiling of the master plan comes as the capital market continues to serve as a platform for mobilising long-term funds for businesses and government, while providing investors with opportunities to invest in financial instruments. Further details on the specific targets, implementation timeline and policy priorities of the NCMMP 2.0 were not provided in the SEC’s announcement.
