The management of Starfield College, Iju, Lagos has thanked God for the successful completion of secondary education by 84 SS111 students.
The Director of Studies (DoS) of Starfield College, Mr. Chris Eigbe expressed the appreciation at the 23rd Thanksgiving Service for the 84 graduating students.
Eigbe said the college acknowledged the hand of God in seeing the students from JSS to the completion of SS111 and urged them to continue to appreciate God for the academic success they recorded.
The DOS explained that the gathering is meant to thank God and celebrate the remarkable journey of the graduating students through secondary education.
He added: “Today we are not only commemorating the academic achievements of these students but also recognizing the blessings and guidance that have led them to this very moment of their life.”
Eigbe commended their subject teachers, year tutors, class teachers, HODs, principal of the college for their contributions in the life of the graduating students.
He advised the graduating students not to forget to count their blessings, cherish their memories and embrace the exciting adventure that lay ahead.
The director further advised them to remember that their achievements are not solely the result of their efforts but a testimony to the divine grace and benevolence that surround the college.
The Principal of the college, Mrs. Sara Oyinloye, appreciated the Lord for keeping the graduating students alive and seeing them through their secondary education.
She noted that the college has been waiting for this occasion following the outstanding performance of the students in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), adding, “we are gathered to praise the Lord for the good result.”
In his charge to the graduating students, Pastor Moses Ogadi, asked them to acknowledge the hand of God in their academic success in the last six years.
He said the thanksgiving service is a celebration of joy and success for the completion of their secondary education and acknowledged the contributions of parents for the academic achievement.
The pastor urged them to leverage on the good foundation laid by Starfield College and also rely on God for the next journey ahead.
