Eric Chelle has praised Alex Iwobi’s high “football IQ” and technical skills.
The Super Eagles advanced to the AFCON 2025 quarter-finals with an impressive 4-0 victory over Mozambique in Fes, Morocco. Iwobi received top player ratings for his 88% pass accuracy, critical tackles, and chances created, which led to goals from Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.

In his post-match media chat, Chelle stated, “Iwobi has an innate understanding of football. He has a high football IQ. I’m very proud of him, and so is the team.”
Super Eagles legend Odion Ighalo, who is now a pundit with SuperSport for AFCON 2025, also praised the Fulham midfielder, saying, “Today, I give credit to Alex Iwobi because he is the engineer of that midfield.”
