Al-Hilal have announced the termination of Neymar Jr’s contact.

This concludes the Brazilian’s injury-plagued 18-month stint in Saudi Arabia.

In a social media announcement, the club stated that they had “agreed to terminate the player’s contract by mutual consent”.

It added that “the club expresses its thanks and appreciation to Neymar for what he has provided throughout his career with Al-Hilal, and wish the player success in his career.”

The 32-year-old played just seven times since arriving at the club from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023.

Just two months after signing for Al Hilal, Neymar ruptured a cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier in October 2023.

The injury sidelined him for a year.

He returned to Al Hilal for two brief games in October and November, but hurt his hamstring and has not played since.

Neymar was reportedly paid roughly $104 million per year.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain sueprstar is now widely expected to rejoin boyhood club, Santos.
