The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Youth Mobilisation, Alabi Opeyemi, is set to launch an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to connect young people with jobs, scholarships, training, and mentorship.
The platform, YouthDesk.ai, will be officially unveiled in September 2026 in Lagos.
According to a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity for the project, Bode Olabisi, the initiative would address the difficulties young people face in accessing reliable career information, relevant skills, and funding opportunities.
Key features include AI Padi, an intelligent virtual assistant that provides personalised guidance to users, and an Opportunity Hub detailing verified scholarships, internships, grants, fellowships, and job openings.
Opeyemi noted that the initiative was inspired by Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to youth development, empowerment, and technological innovation.
“YouthDesk.ai goes beyond being just another digital application; it is conceived as an opportunity infrastructure and ecosystem that brings young people, opportunities, and institutions together on a single platform,” he stated.
He added that the platform would bridge gaps by facilitating strategic partnerships among grassroots youth leaders, private-sector organisations, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and international development partners.
Opeyemi emphasised that YouthDesk.ai aims to equip young Nigerians with the digital tools and connections needed to thrive in the emerging global economy.
