
Lagos State Occupational Safety and Health (LASOSH) Conference 2025, scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Themed “Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) as a Catalyst for Nation Building,” the landmark event will bring together key stakeholders from around the world to advance conversations on safety as a cornerstone of sustainable development, urban resilience, and economic growth.
Organized by the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC), the conference underscores the Sanwo-Olu administration’s growing emphasis on embedding safety in the state’s transformation agenda.
Governor Sanwo-Olu is expected to deliver the keynote address, where he will outline his government’s vision for making Lagos a safer, more resilient, and productive megacity.
“Occupational Safety and Health is not just about compliance; it is about protecting lives, preserving dignity, and driving Lagos’s growth story.
“At LASOSH 2025, we are going beyond the rhetoric to build a Lagos where safety is a culture and innovation drives resilience,”said Mr. Lanre Mojola, Director General of the LSC
As Lagos grapples with the realities of rapid urbanization, industrial expansion, and increasing population density, the summit aims to tackle pressing safety concerns such as building collapses, transportation hazards, workplace accidents, and risks in the informal sector.
Key policy directions expected to be unveiled at the conference include:
Mainstreaming OSH in national and state development strategies; enforcing occupier’s liability insurance in commercial buildings; institutionalizing Safety Impact Assessments for major infrastructure projects;strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks for OSH in both public and private sectors; integrating safety principles into urban planning, transport, and tourism policies and leveraging digital innovation for smarter, data-driven safety solutions
