To commemorate the second anniversary of the Lagos Blue Line rail service, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a 50 percent reduction in fares for Thursday, September 4.

He encouraged residents who have not yet used the service to take advantage of the fare reduction and experience the transformation firsthand.

“This project belongs to all of us, and it is your belief in a greater Lagos that makes progress possible,” Sanwo-Olu added, thanking Lagosians for their trust and support.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving mobility across the state, stating that the journey to modernize Lagos’s transport infrastructure is ongoing.

The governor highlighted the significant milestones achieved since the launch of the Blue Line two years ago, describing it as a symbol of effective governance and transformative infrastructure.

According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Blue Line has safely transported over five million passengers without a single accident, with trains now operating every ten minutes and completing more than 90 trips daily.

He said the rail service has significantly cut travel times across the city, offering residents a more efficient and reliable mode of transport.

“These achievements show that when we work with dedication and purpose, we can build systems that truly serve the people,” he said.
