Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, on his 50th birthday today, describing him as “a seasoned administrator” with a record of service in the security sector.

In a message issued on Monday, the governor said Ogunsan had drawn on his knowledge and experience to “bring about transformation in the security sector through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.” He also praised Ogunsan’s leadership in several roles, including his work with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

Ogunsan’s birthday comes less than a year after his appointment to lead the LSSTF. He assumed office in October 2025, after previously serving on the fund’s Board of Trustees. The fund supports security agencies operating in Lagos, and the governor’s tribute linked Ogunsan’s current responsibilities to his earlier work with community and police initiatives.

His public safety roles have included chairing POCACOV in Lagos State, an initiative focused on campaigns against cultism and other vices, and serving as a patron of the PCRC. Sanwo-Olu cited those positions in describing Ogunsan’s contribution to efforts to improve security and strengthen links between communities and security agencies.

The governor’s message also looked ahead to Ogunsan’s work at the fund. He prayed for “wisdom and knowledge to steer the ship” of the LSSTF and continue serving Lagos State. The birthday greeting, issued on behalf of the governor’s family, the state government and Lagos residents, recognised Ogunsan’s leadership as he takes on the responsibilities of the chief executive role.

Beyond public service, Ogunsan is an entrepreneur with experience in sales administration, financing, investment development, training, security and project management. His business background, alongside his roles in public safety organisations, forms part of the experience he brings to the management of the state fund.

Ogunsan studied Business Administration at Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, and Yaba College of Technology. His academic and professional development has also included programmes and certifications associated with Lagos Business School, Oxford Brookes University, Harvard Business School, Brunel University, Georgetown University, the Management Development Institute in Singapore, the University of Stellenbosch Business School, the University of Wolverhampton, the University of Houston and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

Born on October 6, 1976, Ogunsan is a member of the Institute of Directors Nigeria, the Nigerian-British Association, the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce and the Nigerian-Spanish Association. He is also an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Sanwo-Olu’s birthday message brings together Ogunsan’s work across business, public service and security initiatives, while placing his new LSSTF role at the centre of his next chapter in Lagos public life.
