The Lagos State Government has been tasked to take the lead in orientating Nigerians on social media and AI influence.
The message was particularly directed to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Gbenga Omotosho.
The charge was given during the annual gathering of media professionals, influencers, and innovators across sectors, aimed at promoting positive use of digital platforms and fostering collaboration for social impact, which was organised by the Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH), a non-governmental body.

The programme, tagged: ‘Social Media and A.I Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services and the Society’, would be hosted by Seyi Law, Ajebo Comedian, Ify Onyegbule, and Denrele Edun.
The three-day event, billed for November 21st to 23rd, 2025, across the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, GRA, Lagos, will witness speeches from Prof. Oloruntola Sunday, Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, UNILAG, as well as a Nollywood star, Bimbo Akintola, and Managing Director of News Central TV, Mr Kayode Akintemi, and host of others.
Speaking on the programme, the convener, Bodex Hungbo, stated that the event would be followed with an award presentation to guests, who have contributed positively to the digital literacy and responsible communication.
In her words: “Each of our hosts embodies the spirit of BSMH, creativity, authenticity, and influence. Their presence underscores our mission to celebrate the evolving power of social media and A.I. in shaping narratives, industries, and lives.”
