Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Akwa Ibom State, command has mobilised 650 personnel to enhance security throughout the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the State.
In a statement issued by the State Commandant, NSCDC, Geraldine Abetianbe and made available to Journalists in Uyo , the command said the deployment aimed at ensuring safety and security of citizens during the Islamic holidays .
She said the officers were drawn from tactical units at the state command headquarters, area commands, and divisional offices.
The state commandant explained that personnel were deployed to strategic locations, including mosques, Eid praying grounds, markets, recreational centres, malls and other places of interest, to ensure a peaceful celebration.
The Commandant said DCC Stanley Okpiabhele had been directed to coordinate the operation and ensure compliance by all 31 divisional offices in the state.

She directed commanders to ensure that the patrol teams monitor and touch major flashpoint within and around Uyo metropolis.

She disclosed that the NSCDC was working closely with other security agencies to provide seamless security coverage throughout the eid-el-fitr period.and urged officers to maintain professionalism and vigilance, providing assistance to citizens as needed.
Abetianbe appealed to the public to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
