In March 2024, Ruth Ese Otaigboria, a dedicated member of LACH Initiative, led a remarkable humanitarian outreach across the Gwarimpa and Jahi axis of Abuja, Nigeria. The outreach provided food and essential support to over 500 less-privileged people, many of whom were homeless and vulnerable.

The outreach, hosted by LACH, Lift A Child Initiative, was made possible through funds raised from kind-hearted donors in Nigeria and abroad. Ruth initiated the idea and, together with her volunteer team, handled the planning and execution of the project, with Ruth serving as the lead. From mobilizing support to coordinating the distribution, she ensured that the items reached those who needed them most.
Beyond feeding the less privileged, Ruth and her team also distributed free sanitary pads to young girls and women. They educated them on menstrual hygiene, helping those who had little understanding of the female body and what to do during their periods. This important part of the outreach created awareness, reduced shame, and encouraged girls and women to care for themselves with confidence and dignity.
LACH Initiative, founded in 2022 by Roselinejethro Ajagbe, continues to focus on supporting children and vulnerable communities through acts of service, compassion, and practical intervention. This outreach reflected the heart of the organization: lifting lives, restoring hope, and reminding people that they are not forgotten.
Through her leadership, compassion, and dedication, Ruth Ese Otaigboria has shown that service to humanity goes beyond giving food. It also means educating, empowering, and protecting the dignity of those who are often overlooked. The March 2024 outreach remains a powerful example of how one person’s vision, supported by a caring volunteer team and community, can create meaningful change.
