Rotn. Betty Elegba assumes presidency of Rotary Club of Lagos West

At an impressive Investiture and Fund raising Ceremony penultimate week, at Garden Top Hotel, Rotarian Betty N. Elegba became the 42nd president of Rotary Club of Lagos West District 9111, Nigeria.

In attendance at the event were Rotarian Oluwole Kukoyi, the irrestitable District Governor and his entourage, past District Governor, Omotunde Lawson, past assistance governor’s, irrestitable presidents of various Rotary Clubs of the districts, Rotarians, distinguished Awardees and other guests.

In her welcome address, Rotarian Jessica Onyike, Chairman Investiture Committee, on behalf of her team welcomed everyone present to the investiture ceremony and induction of Board Members of their great club, Rotary Club of Lagos West for the Magic Year 2024/2025.

Rtn Onyike further said, “aside the investiture of the magic president and induction of her members, the objective of the investiture ceremony is to raise funds for the execution of various projects in this Magic Rotary Year, tagged the irresistible Year, as well as to increase membership of our dear club,” she emphasized.

She requested for support through generous financial donations to enable the club serve humanity through their proposed project during this Magic Rotary Year.

 

The Chairperson of the Day, Dame Susan Isoken Solanke, ably represented paid glowing tribute to the president, Rtn Betty Elegba and wished her a glorious tenure

Meanwhile, in her valedictory speech, Rotarian Omolara Adewunmi Akinsanye, the outgoing President said, “over the past year, we had faced challenges, embraced opportunities and worked tirelessly for the betterment of our community and the world” “Together, we have delivered impactful service projects, supported those those in need and strengthened our bonds with one another”, she emphasized.

Finally, she thanked all that supported her, especially her Board members.

In her acceptance speech, Rtn Betty Elegba, the new President, said she appreciated the vote of confidence bestowed on her in this Rotary Year, 2024/2025 as the 42nd President of our great club.

The President went further to appreciate the immediate past President and other leaders of the club for their doggedness, stewardship and dedication throughout the Hope Rotary Year.

Rtn. Betty Elegba pledged an open door presidency while reiterating her commitment as promised during the clubs retreat with the knowledge that the buck stops with her.

“I want to assure you that I will always listen, work hard with my Board members because our vision can only be achieved when we work as a team while adhering to the five Ts of time, treasure, talent, thought and trust,”she maintained.

Finally, she thanked all members for their generous donations and pledges whenever called upon, which helps in carrying out projects in our community.

In his brief remarks, the District Governor, Rtn. Kukoyi appreciated all members of the club that showed passion and dedication during the Hope Rotary Year.

The ceremony recorded numerous distinguished awardees, investiture of Board members.
