The Gateway International Airport in Ode-Iperu-Illishan, Ikenne Local Government Area, is emerging as a beacon of development, thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the active contributions of leaders like Rotarian Victor Oyefeso, CEO of Villamond Investment Limited.

This ambitious project is not just an airport but the cornerstone of an Aerotropolis initiative designed to transform Ogun State into a global aviation hub and a nexus for economic growth.

Strategically located near the Sagamu Interchange on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the airport offers seamless connectivity to Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, and the Sagamu-Benin Expressway.

Its design includes facilities for cargo processing, international agricultural produce testing, logistics, commercial flights, and job creation for over 25,000 youths.

This integrated approach ensures Ogun’s readiness to support high-value industries and enhance exports, making the state a key player in Nigeria’s economic diversification efforts.

A highlight of the Aerotropolis project is the Nigeria Customs Training School, a ₦73 billion facility being developed on 100 hectares of land. Slated to be the largest in sub-Saharan Africa, the school will bolster Nigeria’s security infrastructure, train customs officers to international standards, and create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.

Rotary’s Influence and Commitment to Development
Rotarian Victor Oyefeso, a prominent investor and Rotary member, is leveraging his expertise to align real estate development with the state’s infrastructural goals. His company, Villamond Investment Limited, is championing projects like the eco-friendly Airport View Estate and Alafia Garden Estate, strategically located to complement the airport’s operations.

“Our efforts are rooted in Rotary’s principles of service and community development,” Oyefeso noted. “The Airport View Estate, launching in January 2025, will provide sustainable living solutions while creating wealth for investors. These projects symbolize how collaboration between public and private sectors can drive transformational change.”

Airport View Estate: A Vision for Sustainable Living
Situated behind the Gateway International Airport, Airport View Estate is designed as a tranquil and green community. It features perimeter fencing, solar street lights, CCTV, tennis courts, and commercial spaces. Plots are available with flexible payment plans starting at ₦200,000, making it an accessible investment for both first-time buyers and seasoned investors.

Ogun State: A Gateway to Prosperity
Ogun’s Aerotropolis initiative highlights the state’s potential to attract significant foreign direct investment and economic activities. With land values increasing by over 500% in the last five years, developments like the Gateway International Airport and surrounding estates are reshaping Ogun’s economic landscape.
