The president of Rotary Club of Anthony Golden Golden District 9110, Adejimi Babatunde-Olubanjo, revealed at the investiture of the board of directors recently that the projects outlined for the new year are worth millions.
He identified the areas the funds would be deployed to include peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention/ treatment and water/sanitation. Others are maternal and child health, basic education and literacy as well as economic and community development.
Batunde-OluBanjo, who received the baton from the club’s president, Osemoje Lato, is the third president of the club, while the former was the second president of the club.
Meanwhile, commendations trailed the emergence of Olubanjo as the third president of Rotary Club of Anthony Golden District 9110 after his well-attended investiture ceremony in Lagos.
The investiture and induction of new members attracted Nigerians from diverse backgrounds, including the District Governor, District 9110 Rotarian Omotunde Lawson, with many of the guests receiving awards for commendable performances and service delivery in different sectors.
Olubanjo said the club has resolved to live up to expectation and billing as he pledged to make the organisation and society proud. “We would attempt to carry out a flawless internal leadership that would be dynamic in nature,” he said.
The imaginative president, as he is called, at the investiture ceremony, pledged his commitment to the club while calling for support and collaboration from members, urging them to serve humanity in their various endeavours and be true image-maker.
He explained that giving back to society has great joy and being Rotarians, they were always led by their actions.
“Our action, our character to provide service to humanity is such that inspires millions to come forward and join the league in service of humanity. We serve humanity with limited resources and that is why, as Rotarians, we appeal to concerned citizens to contribute to the Rotary 4T: time, thought, talent and treasure,” he said.
Those who received awards at the event included, Goni Zakari, Class Captain Imaginative President 2022/2023, the Sales Manager, The Lacasera Company Yusuf Bello, MD/CEO Fish Farms Limited,Victor Uwa, Executive Director Concept Group, Itiekhan Ikpeminogera, MD/CEO Leemaz Integrated Services Limited, Ayo Balogun, MD/CEO Pedigree Lounge Umo Nnamso, Chartered President Anthony Golden and Dantawaye Miller Gajere, MD/CEO, Ebo Urenwoke.
The guest speaker, Ayoade Adeyemi, spoke on the same theme of service and selflessness. Without such virtues, according to him, a Rotarian and his club would no doubt fulfill the objectives of Rotary.
He congratulated the club for the feat so far achieved. He urged that the investiture ceremony should be a catalyst to be focused on the delivery of the projects outlined for the Rotary year and beyond.
The club acknowledged Rotarian Omotunde Lawson. Others present were assistant governor Rotarian Kefe Adedibu and the club assistant governor, Allan Emezue.
